The NAS Prize Awardees
The National Academy of Sciences Award was established in 1955 in accordance with the Culture Protection Act. To further the advancement of science in Korea, the National Academy of Sciences presents the NAS Award to Korean scholars and scientists who have made significant contributions to the development of sciences through research and academic pursuits. A total of up to 6 from the Humanities & Social Sciences Division and the Natural Sciences Division are awarded each year. Each recipient of the NAS Award is presented with the Letter of Citation, a medal, and a cash prize of 50 million won.
